Airtel Money Integration
Allios integrates with Airtel Money Uganda to allow businesses and tenants to send, receive, and reconcile mobile money transactions seamlessly. We adhere to Airtel’s API & developer guidelines and comply with their privacy & terms of service.
What Allios can do with Airtel Money
- Collect payments for goods and services (e.g., POS, school fees, utility bills).
- Disburse salary, vendor, or bulk payments to Airtel Money wallets.
- Check account balances and reconcile transactions automatically.
- Support subscription billing and recurring payments for tenants.
Authentication & APIs
Airtel Money uses OAuth2 client credentials for API authentication. Here are the main endpoints we utilize:
/merchant/transactions– Collect and confirm customer payments./disbursements– Send funds to Airtel Money wallets./balance– Query merchant or wallet balances in real-time./transactions/status– Verify transaction outcomes.

Payment Flow
- Customer initiates payment in Allios (checkout, bill pay, invoice).
- Allios triggers a request via Airtel Money API.
- Customer approves the transaction on their phone.
- Airtel Money confirms success/failure and Allios updates tenant records.
Security & Data Handling
- API credentials and tokens are encrypted and rotated regularly.
- All transactions use secure HTTPS connections with signed requests.
- No PINs or handset secrets are stored by Allios.
- Transaction data is retained for regulatory compliance and tenant reporting only.
User & Tenant Controls
Tenants can:
- Enable Airtel Money per business application.
- Separate permissions for collections vs disbursements.
- Review transaction logs and financial reports in real-time.
- Disconnect Airtel Money or request deletion of credentials anytime.
